((I know this is kind of silly, but seriously, happy Valentine’s day, everyone! Hmph. Since you Surface dwellers seem to be so woefully ignorant of the delicate interworkings of life in the Sky, I will help the rest of my descendants answer your questions.

((Since I’ve finally gotten my Hyrule Historia and nearly sobbed over the origin manga at the end, I’ve decided that the origin Loftwing belongs on the blog. I tried my best to decipher Akira Himekawa’s inconsistent and crazy shading/coloring job, so please excuse any design inaccuracies. All of his posts will be under the tag #origin. Ask away!))

Between Loftwings, we have different calls, screeches, and body language to get each others’ attention. This is not the same as a name, however.

There is no need for Loftwings to have names because the bond between a Loftwing and their partner is so intimate, and the partner understands their Loftwing so closely, that to put a label on it would be blasphemy - no name can describe all a Loftwing is, as the partner understands them. Partners know each other by feel and the touch of their minds and soul, not by meaningless sounds.
